Laundry Love, Nov. 28
Report from our Nov. 28 Laundry Love session: There were 29 guests, using 80 washing machines (plus corresponding dryers), with 8 hosts, and $307.75 in quarters fed into the washers and dryers. At 2:00 pm it seemed unusually quiet and it appeared that we might have a rather quiet session, but then a wave of guests arrived and filled all of the washers for a second time. Linda Smith, Sarah Baxter, Kathy Fogele, Sally Plaster, Nancy Kovalcik, Fr. Mark, Jill Vogt and myself were the gracious hosts. Jill Vogt, a first time host, stayed busy till 4:00 plugging quarters and welcoming guests in the congested northeast corner of the laundromat. The next Laundry Love session will be Tuesday, December 26 (the day after Christmas), with Cheryl serving as coordinator. The scheduled hosts for December include: Cheryl Gould, Jim Maxon, Barb Smith, Pb and Ron Walsh, Kathy Fogele. If the holiday timing of this next session will be a problem for you, please contact Cheryl or I as soon as possible so that we can find alternate hosts. We could definitely use the help of a couple more hosts. If you have some friends who might be interested in serving as hosts please contact Cheryl or I. Thank you for your continuing commitment to this ministry. Mike |
