Building and Grounds

“The LORD God put the man in the Garden of Eden to take care of it and to look after it.” (Genesis 2:15, CEV) God has put you and me not into the Garden of Eden but into the community of people we call Christ Church, and one of the principal things he intends for us is “to take care of it and look after it.” There are many levels of “caring” and “looking after” – pastoral care, care of our neighbors, care for “the least of these,” etc.; and one of these is care of our beautiful building and grounds. A group of us, led by John Merriam, have taken this stewardship of our building and grounds to heart, and are excitedly (yes, excitedly!) doing our part to be good stewards. There are always things that need to be done to keep up our historical building and our beautiful grounds! If you are willing to help, come to a Building and Grounds Committee meeting, or speak with Chairman John Merriam.
Volunteering to keep up our building and grounds will not only save us money, it will put what we believe into action: that we are stewards of all that God has given us, and members one of another. "His master replied, 'Well done, good and faithful servant! You have been faithful with a few things; I will put you in charge of many things. Come and share your master's happiness!'” (Matthew 25:23 NIV)
